International Scholarships in University of Ottawa, Canada 2021

The University of Ottawa is pleased to announce its international Scholarships to study in CANADA. The University of Ottawa International Scholarships is for international students pursuing undergraduate & graduate programs.

Scholarship Description

The Faculty of Engineering will provide up to 60 scholarships in support of official international activities (e.g. internships or visiting terms in foreign corporations, universities, institutions) on a competitive basis. The terms of the projected events may span from 1 month to 12 months.

Though applications cannot be reviewed for a specific position once the closing date has passed, your application will be reserved for prospect postings.

Level/Field of Study: University of Ottawa International Scholarships is obtainable for persons pursuing undergraduate & graduate programs at the University Of Ottawa, Canada.

Host Nationality: Canada.

Eligible Nationalities: The University of Ottawa International Scholarships is available for international students.

Scholarship Benefits

The scholarship is valued at $6,000, with the precise amount depending on the importance and requirements of the projected activities.

Scholarship Eligibility

To be eligible for application Scholarships, Applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Must be a Full-time Faculty of Engineering undergraduate or graduate students
  • Some short-term events (e.g. summer schools) with duration of less than 1 month can also be considered under exceptional circumstances.
  • English Language Requirements: Students need to exhibit that they have a good level of written and spoken English.

Note, Student in their first eight months as undergraduates or in their final term of registration (at any level) is not eligible for this scholarship. Thesis-based graduate students will need to get approval from their thesis supervisors before applying. Also, Students can only get a single IES scholarship (lifetime).

  • Submit your application

All applications must comprise of a signed completed application form, a C.V., a transcript and a letter from a representative of the proposed destination. All this must be sent to engineering.international-at-uOttawa.ca.

 

Evaluation Conditions and Process

The Faculty of Engineering International Office will be responsible for gathering the applications, organizing the documents for the evaluation committee, publicizing the results to the candidates, and following up on all funded activity.

The Vice-Dean International will take the lead in procuring funds for the scholarship and organizing and chairing the scholarship evaluation committee. The evaluation committee will be composed of the following persons: Vice-Dean International (Chair) and two professors from the Faculty, from 3 different academic units. The two professors will be carefully chosen jointly by the Dean and Vice-Dean International.

Verification

  • Students who are awarded the IES scholarship will need to provide the following documents no later than 2 weeks on their return to Canada: Boarding passes (or equivalent documents) and;
  • A letter from the foreign institution (or foreign supervisor, etc.) attesting to partaking in the planned activities, or some equivalent document.

Note, Students who do not provide such documents will have to refund the amount of the IES scholarship, i.e., it will be charged to their student account.
