The University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol is pleased to announce the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences M.Sc. Scholarship.

The scholarship will be awarded in the field of M.Sc. Advanced Wildlife Conservation in Practice, MRes Applied Sciences, M.Sc. Biomedical Science, M.Sc. Science Communication, M.Sc. Environmental Health, M.Sc. Health Psychology, M.Sc. Occupational Psychology, MRes Social Sciences
M.Sc. Public Health, M.Sc. Sport and Exercise Psychology.

DESCRIPTION OF SCHOLARSHIP

Application Closing Date: April 28, 2019.

Degree Level: The scholarship is available to those who seek to pursue a master degree program.

Available Subject: The scholarship will be awarded in the following programs: M.Sc. Advanced Wildlife Conservation in Practice, MRes Applied Sciences, M.Sc. Biomedical Science, M.Sc. Science Communication, M.Sc. Environmental Health, M.Sc. Health Psychology, M.Sc. Occupational Psychology, MRes Social Sciences
M.Sc. Public Health, M.Sc. Sport and Exercise Psychology.

Scholarship Benefits: The scholarship will cover 50% of tuition fees.

Number of Scholarships: Three scholarships available.

Nationalities: International students (who must be classed as overseas for fees purposes) can apply.

Scholarship will be taken in the UK.

REQUIREMENTS

To eligible, applicants meet the following criteria:

  • Have achieved the equivalent of a British 1st or 2:1 in an undergraduate degree
  • Hold an unconditional offer or a conditional offer where IELTS or equivalent English language is the only condition.
  • Be a new student to UWE Bristol with no previous UK study.
  • Be classed as overseas for fees purposes.
  • Not be a sponsored student or in receipt of another scholarship/award.
  • Provide official transcripts at the time of application.

Note for successful candidates: you will need to prove when accepting the Scholarship that you satisfy the UKVI criteria in terms of being able to cover living costs and the remainder of the fee.

PROCEDURES FOR APPLICATION

To be considered for the Scholarship, applicants will need to cover the following points in their personal statement which should accompany the program application:

  • What potential you have for outstanding performance on the program – please note that this will be assessed both through evidence of your academic record to date and the quality of your written application.
  • What potential do you have to become an outstanding professional in your selected subject area, and how your work experience to date points to exceptional achievements in relation to interests outside formal education.
  • How you show potential for being an effective ambassador for UWE Bristol when you return to your home country. You should show a grasp of British universities’ agenda overseas and of successful ways of influencing potential audiences.
  • How you show concern for other students on your program, evidencing contribution of a kind that is likely to enrich their experiences and not just your own.

HOW TO APPLY

Applications can be made online by selecting the ‘Apply for this course’ option on the web page for the selected M.Sc. program.

  • Students who have deferred their application from academic year 2017/2018 to 2018/2019 will need to write another personal statement if they would like to be considered for the Scholarship and upload it via their UWE welcome portal.
  • They should clearly write and save the document as “Personal Statement for the Faculty of Health and Applied Sciences M.Sc. (International) Scholarship”before uploading via their welcome portal.
