This is to bring to the notice of the public that the new Northwestern Polytechnic University President Scholarship Program is now available on offer for foreign students.

The Northwestern Polytechnic University is a National Key University, directed by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China, located in Xi’an, Shaanxi, China. The international College was established in October 2007 and in the same year; NPU became one host university of Chinese Government Scholarship recognized by the China Scholarship Council of the Ministry of Education. Since then, the university has constantly received international students of different majors all over the world.

Description of Scholarship

  • Closing date for Applications: May 15, 2019
  • Degree level: Scholarships are available to those who seek to pursue undergraduate, Master and PhD programs.
  • Field of Study: Scholarships are given to study any of the courses offered by the university.
  • Scholarship Award: The “NPU President Scholarship” includes a full prize and a partial for the full prize winners, tuition, housing and insurance fees are waived. In addition, they are entitled to a monthly allowance of:
  • 1,500RMB/person/month for Bachelor’s candidates.
  • 2,000RMB/person/month for Master’s candidates.
  • 3,500RMB/person/month for PhD candidates.
  • For the partial prize winners, tuition fees are waived.
  • Nationalities: Scholarships are open to foreign students.
  • Scholarship will be taken in China.

REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s Candidates

  1. All applicants must obey Chinese laws and regulations, the rules and regulations set forth by NPU, reverence Chinese customs, enjoy the knowledge of Chinese culture, and adopt a friendly attitude towards China.
  2. Foreign citizens must be in good physical and mental health.
  3. Certificate of Chinese/English proficiency:

Chinese Requirement: Minimum HSK level 4 or equivalent certificate; or native speaker.

English Requirement: Minimum TOFEL: 70, IELTS: 5.5, or equivalent certificate; or native speaker.

  1. Must be within the ages of 18 to 30 (by September 1, 2019). For the applicants under 18, please bring the relevant supporting documents (Notarized certificate of guardian in China) to the official registration.
  2. All applicants must have a senior high school diploma with acceptable academic performance. The GPA should not be lower than an 80 (one hundred-mark system, scores in other numbered systems should be converted into percentage.), or B/B+ (on a letter grade system).

Master and PhD Candidates

  1. All applicants must obey Chinese laws and regulations, the rules and regulations set forth by NPU, reverence Chinese customs, enjoy the knowledge of Chinese culture, and adopt a friendly attitude towards China.
  2. Foreign citizens must be in good physical and mental health.

Chinese Requirement: Minimum HSK level 4 or equivalent certificate; or native speaker.

English Requirement: Minimum TOFEL: 70, IELTS: 5.5, or equivalent certificate; or native speaker.

  1. Master’s candidates must have a Bachelor’s Degree and should not be more than 35 years old at the time of application. PhD candidates must have a Master’s Degree and should not be more than 40 years old at the time of application. All applicants should be in good health.
  2. All applicants should have graduated from a national high-status university (within a respected comprehensive list or the student’s major at university should be within national top 10 of universities within their country.) with outstanding academic performance.
  3. All applicants should hold exceptional achievements in their field of work or study, or the applicants should show great research potential.

*In cases that the applicants show great potentially to contribute to NPU, the age limitation can be flexible.

Requirements for English LanguageCertificate of Chinese/English proficiency:

Procedures for Application

Step 1 – Complete the online application on the following web page: http://admission.nwpu.edu.cn/

Step 2 – A team will be organized to weigh up documents of applicants; applicant’s documents will be selected for further review by the appropriate academic schools.

Step  3 – Applicants will be notified for an interview by email.

Step 4 – Send Admission Notice and other significant documents. The registration deadline is 15th September 2019. Failure to register within the time limit without the permission of the registration office of International College, you will have automatically forfeited admission into this university.

  3. A Recommendation Letter from high school for applying for Bachelor’s Degree.
  4. Two Recommendation Letters from two professors for applying for Master’s or PhD degree.
  5. A study plan.

  7. A copy of valid passport.
  8. Completed physical Examination form.
